When should you have your Concrete Pavers sealed?

  1. Some concrete pavers can be sealed directly after installation.
  2. Some concrete pavers need to cure for 60 days to allow efflorescence to rise before cleaning and sealing.
  3. There are several factors that dictate when it is time to recoat or reseal your concrete paver. Your concrete pavers may need to be resealed in 3-5 years depending on weather, sunlight, traffic and type of sealer originally applied.

What finish is right for your Concrete Pavers?

  1. If you like the appearance of your concrete pavers after a rain, then we suggest a wet look sealer like Techniseal WL4.
  2. If you want a wet look, color enhancing sealer without the glossy finish, Techniseal WLP is for you.
  3. If you do not want to change the appearance of your concrete pavers; Techniseal IN or EV will fit your needs.

What is RPM’s process for Cleaning and Sealing Concrete Pavers?

  1. RPM will first spot clean oil, paint, efflorescence, rust or tire marks with the appropriate cleaner.
  2. RPM will then clean the entire surface with a general hardscape cleaner and a pressure washer.
  3. RPM will then touch-up joint sand or make repairs if required.
  4. RPM will wait 24 hours or until concrete pavers are completely dry to apply sealer.
  5. RPM will hang flagging to keep traffic off of concrete pavers for 24 hours.
  6. RPM will verify irrigation systems are turned off.

Can You Clean and Seal Natural Stone?

Yes, you can clean and seal natural stone. Natural stone flakes off in layers and mortar joints can easily be broken. Your contractor should take caution in the process of cleaning your stone to minimize damage. Hardscape Cleaner, Organic Stain Remover and diluted bleach can be used to clean your stone. A very low pressure nozzle on a pressure washer can be used for cleaning. I suggest Techniseal IN (Invisible) Sealer for stone. It's usually best to not alter the appearance of stone. The benefits to sealing stone are the same as sealing pavers.
